Monday 14th March 2022 Hours 192-200

Today I began working on some more Flooid Illustrations, the first task was to add 2 new buildings into my old butchers/fried chicken shop illustration, this was an easy enough task for me to complete. After creating the buildings I then had to take the long task of layering the illustration for the animator to use, all of this took me till the end of the day to complete.

Today I was able to work on a new project/client. This was for PCA (Professional Cricketers Association) the task was to create an e-flyer for a hospitality event, I was told this task would be urgently needed so I got to work right away

My first design was a great start but definitely had a lot of issues, especially with the text, but I was able to get a lot of feedback on how to move foward.

FEEDBACK

"Bigger title - better split on words pls everything's very spaced apart

and the button could be much nicer

Check the button on the other design - I think it had more to it

The only thing you need to take from their word doc is the words - ignore any design they have attempted"

My next design had a much better sense of hierarchy and is visually a lot nicer to look at than the previous, this was more well-received than the previous but I was still able to get feedback on how to make it better!

FEEDBACK

"like the blue part, nice bold element - make text bold! Can you loose the top and bottom line - keeping just the middle one, but make it narrower so it aligns to the button. Change the gradient line to green to blue to match your colours. Change the button to a green/blue gradient but give it a stroke edge like white.

make the end bit about 'There is also' a little smaller to fit on two lines and bring it closer together with the get in touch bit as those are related."

I am really happy with my final design, I definitely wouldn't have gotten it to this point without the great feedback.

After lunch I got tasked with editing some existing illustrations for PCA, this was a rather fun and easy job to complete.

Original illustration - EDITS NEEDED TO MAKE IT LOOK MORE LIKE 400%

Today I was on another project for PCA, this time I was creating a word document template which would be used for various different things within PCA. The finished item would have a chunky border with the PCA logos and social icons.

This is the final border; I then had to fill it with the text I was provided and neatly lay it out

In the afternoon I worked on a spread of a magazine called 'Beyond the boundaries', the spread I worked on was called 'my passion' This was the first time I had completed a spread like this but I was able to get references and help from people in the office.

Thursday 17th March 2022 Hours 216-224

Today I worked on a copywriting/editing project, I was given a word docc with lots of text in it for things that had to be changed in a PCA information booklet, I had never done anything like this before so I was slightly confused but I eventually got the hang of it after a while and some advice from one of the managers.

For example I would find this in the word doc (left) and make the changes in red to the PCA document (right)

In some cases there were lots of changes...

Overall this task was harder than you may think, especially as some pages couldn't fit all of the amends and I had to find creative ways of fitting it in

I was then sent a mockup of my Charlie and Daisy wedding stationery which I really pleased with.

This week was very fun, I got to do a lot of design work that I had never worked on before.
