Monday 7th February – Hours 64-72
Today I was given the task of building up a menu for Baresca. I was given a previous menu design and told what the new layout should look like.

This was a fairly tricky task as I had a lot to fit into the space and couldn’t leave anything out, I found that a good way of separating different types of food was using light coloured boxes
Halfway through working on this menu, I was given another briefing for the Flooid animation. This was to create some UI screens based on some screenshots from the original website. This task was very different from what I was used to but I really enjoyed it, the task wasn’t too hard but was very relaxing to work through.

Overall, today was quite busy but I know that I am able to continue working on any tasks the next day and I don’t feel pressured to produce a greater quantity of work over good quality work, something I have found to be the case in some of my classes at Napier.
Tuesday 8th February – Hours 72-80
Today I was just continuing on the work from yesterday, as usual I was able to get feedback whenever I needed it and was able to shift from one project to the other as the day went on. I found today quite relaxed and I didn’t have to worry about what I wanted to work on.

Wednesday 9th February – Hours 80-88
I made good progress on the Baresca Menu today, I was able to get all of the elements needed into the file and arrange them in a way that looked best. After sending some screenshots into the chat.

I was given a good amount of feedback on how to proceed, I was even sent a diagram of where to shift different elements on the page.

The menu design was mainly created in Illustrator then brought into InDesign, this again was tricky for me to use but I felt much more confident in my abilities in the program due to using it over the past weeks.
Thursday 10th February – Hours 88-96
Today was just making the finishing touches on the Baresca menu, I'm very happy with how it turned out in the end, and others seemed to be happy with it as well.

I found this week much more relaxed than other weeks, I really enjoyed the mix of layout and illustration I was able to work on throughout the week, I enjoy being able to be in the studio and work around people and be able to bounce ideas around. Although most people are working on separate briefs and different projects, a lot of them know the clients and have worked on similar briefs previously and are able to chat about what you are doing so you are able to find what is best.
